Did you know that 60% of all hair electrical sales happen in October, November and December? Every year electricals prove to be a really popular choice for gift giving, whether it’s curling bars, straighteners or dryers – so now is the time to get stocked up ready for the mad rush!
Up-Selling
Due to electricals being a popular choice for gifting, they tend to ‘sell themselves’ however there are a couple things you can do to help increase your sales.
- Get Talking – Getting your clients talking is an excellent way of getting your foot in the door, ask them if they’ve started preparing for Christmas yet, ask them what their plans are for Christmas this year. This then gives you the opportunity to find out more about their wants and needs, and in response you can recommend the perfect electrical gifts for them.
- Stylist Approved – This may sound obvious, but using electricals on your clients is a fantastic way to introduce them to the benefits of it. Explain what tool you are using and SHOW them the benefits. For example, you could go into depth on the conditioning systems built in to the Diva Atmos Dryers, or you could recommend the Hot Tools Volumiser 2-in-1 set for those clients who struggle to blow dry their hair at home.
- Placement – Store your retail electricals where they are easy to see, eyeline on your retail shelf is best. You want your stands to look eye catching so don’t be afraid to go to town and decorate them for Christmas by adding fairy lights, holly…the options are endless! Not only do you want your stand to be decorated, it’s important they’re kept clean and dust free, dusty stands give the impression that nobody is interested in the stock which can put people off. Remember that creating interest in the stand is the first step to creating interest in the products on them.
- Heat Protection – When making a sale on any electrical item, you can seize this opportunity to also up-sell heat protectants.
