Kathryn Everett

Kathryn Everett

Kathryn has worked with many leading names in the industry, managing a range of teams in a variety of settings throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. Kathryn still has the drive and passion for hairdressing, and enjoys sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. Kathryn has also been part of an artist team demonstrating around the globe alongside a number of top stylists.

Kathryn is truly inspirational, her diverse talent ranges from designing and running educational programmes to backwash tutorials and advanced cutting and colouring. She has organised large events including product launches and stage shows for some of the leading names in the industry. Kathryn will bring innovative techniques and a wealth of experience and knowledge to help you and your team.

David Thomas

David Thomas

David Thomas has over 30 years of experience in the hairdressing industry and is one of the prestigious few to become Alterna Creative Ambassador. He is a commercial hairdresser as well as an educator. David Thomas Hairdressing has recently celebrated its 30th year in business so to say he knows the industry well is an understatement! David is passionate about hairdressing and he loves to share his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

As well as the knowledge that comes from working in a busy city centre salon, David has gained a great deal of experience in many other aspects of the hairdressing industry during his successful career. His photographic work has appeared in both national and international magazines. He has also been a finalist in the prestigious British Hairdressing Awards, twice! As an educator for ghd, David launched the international training academy, where he then went on to deliver seminars all over the globe… From Preston, Leeds and London to Hamburg, Budapest and Brisbane, Australia! David’s seminars with Salon Promotions Ltd have been a great success and stylists and salon owners feel confident and inspired when they get back to their salons!

Jenna Kearns

Jenna Kearns

Jenna has over 15 years in the hairdressing industry throughout America and the United Kingdom. Jenna’s passion is helping salon owners and teams to create the best customer experience possible therefore creating repeat guests that are loyal, making referrals and enjoying as many services and products that they desire. She helps salon owners and teams to step back and view the guest experience through their customers eyes to envision the perfect environment.

Jenna’s experience is vast across leading teams, sales, marketing and education from reception to the back wash and everything in between. Jenna will inspire you to love and appreciate even the smallest detail of your business and you might just love breaking down the numbers as well!

Christian Howley

Christian Howley

Christian has 13 years experience in the hairdressing industry.

At 16 Christian won his first gold award and by the age of 18 Christian had achieved Great British Hairdressing champion which he maintained for 3 consecutive years. Christian was seen as a young, inspiring and talented hairdresser and gained a place with Team GB. Since then Christian has toured the world and competed in Holland, Paris, Greece and Sweden to name a few.

Christian is now a very successful salon owner and has his own training academy.

Sam King

Sam King

Sam is 25 and has worked with David since leaving school in 2005. Sam assists David with his seminars for Salon Promotions and is also the head of Exceed training academy at David Thomas. The David Thomas Exceed Academy is constantly growing and Sam is currently training 18 apprentices from local salons through NVQ levels 2 & 3. Sam is a fully qualified assessor and has recently achieved her certificate in education. She also works as an advanced stylist at David Thomas Hairdressing. As a busy stylist in a commercial salon, Sam understands the daily challenges hairdressers face, because she faces them too! She inspires her students by sharing her experiences and passion for the industry.

Sam is creative and hardworking, she loves the challenges that being a trainer and working on the seminars bring. She says “Being involved with seminars and training gives you chance to think out of the box, which I love! I always want to improve, teaching gives me a chance to do this, as well as helping others to improve at the same time!” Sam and David make a great team... Their skills and passion give their students the inspiration and confidence to try new things in their own salons.

Richard Bailey

Richard Bailey

Richard is 21 and has worked at David Thomas Hairdressing since he was 14; he trained under a fantastic team at the DT academy and has recently completed his level 3 NVQ in hairdressing. Richard is now a teaching assistant in the academy helping future stylists from other salons to complete their NVQ.

He has a busy column on the salon floor and is responsible for the success of our blow dry bar, offering clients a luxury blow dry in 30 minutes. Richard has also assisted David on photo-shoots, seminars and on stage at Salon International. He already has a wealth of experience in the industry, even at such a young age.

Steve Rowbottom

Steve Rowbottom

Since establishing the award-winning Westrow hairdressing group in 1987 with coowner Marc Westerman, Steve Rowbottom, as head of creative direction, has taken the brand from strength to strength. Creatively-minded, but commercially savvy, Steve is forward thinking in all areas integral to the evolution of the Westrow business, which celebrated 25 years in business last year and currently has eight salons across Yorkshire and a 5,000 sq ft educational Academy in the heart of Leeds.

Responsible for keeping the brand at the forefront of technical excellence and with a dedication to discipline, Steve loves reinterpreting classic techniques; is committed to education and pushing the creative boundaries and strives for excellence in all areas. Steve was the 2012 Business Director of the Year at the British Hairdressing Business Awards, an accolade he shared with his business partner, Marc Westerman.

Sarah Hargreaves

Sarah Hargreaves

During this role, Sarah won team leader of the year and leaders choice award following nominations from her colleagues. Although her Harrogate salon was the smallest in the group; this didn’t stop them winning numerous awards for highest colour sales, developing colour business and achieving targets. Sarah has always been eager to continue her learning and has attended various academies over the years and received training from some of the most esteemed hairdressing academies including Schwarzkopf, Jingles London, ghd, fantastic hairdresser, Antony Whittaker and Action Business Coaching.

At just 23 years old Sarah took a leap of faith and bought her salon, October Hair in Harrogate. Since then her business has gone from strength to strength and she’s established a successful team and turned the October into a high quality salon with fantastic and unrivalled reputation. October Hair won Lloyds Start Up Business 2007 after less than a year in business however in 2010 they were unlucky to have had a major fire and had to start the business again working in temporary premises until the salon was completely refurbished and the journey started all over again… Today Sarah is nominated for an award at the Yorkshire Hairdressing Awards and is looking forward to help develop the future stars in the industry and become more involved in training and education.

Marc Westerman

Marc Westerman

With a firm focus on developing Westrow's business methodology and driving the expansion of the brand, Marc works in close partnership with accounts, legal and business development advisors to ensure Westrow is proactive, focused and financially aware in all areas integral to the business's success and continual progression.

Marc is also two times winner of the British Hairdressing Business Awards Business Director of the Year, the most recent being in 2012, an accolade he shares with his business partner of 27 years, Steve Rowbottom.

Leanne Brown

Leanne Brown

With a forte in men's hairdressing and barbering technique, Leanne works alongside Steve to deliver education to staff at each of Westrow's eight salons across Yorkshire, as well as the Westrow Academy in the heart of Leeds.

Former winner of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy Men's Image Award in 2009, Leanne is best known for her educational prowess and precision cutting and her style of work is clean with attention to detail and a twist to inspire.

Stephaine Cadwell

Senior Stylist and Salon Manager in a bustling Huddersfield salon; Steph has 7 years of experience in the hair industry and over 9 years in customer service. Steph says "I not only have a passion for hair, but a talent for making every client look and feel their very best."

Steph has trained and worked with the very best Vidal Sasoon stylists and is always eager to grow her knowledge and push her boundaries in colour and cutting. Steph is currently working towards her assessors award and regularly works as an in-demand session stylist on at national and regional shows.

Diane Poulton

Diane Poulton

Diane has been in the hairdressing industry for over 20 years. Diane started her career hairdressing and then moved on to open her own business.

Since then Diane became a trainer and assessor in hairdressing at nearby colleges. Whilst doing this Diane also maintained her experience working within a salon. We are delighted that Diane has joined our team and so is she!

Ruby Lomax

Ruby Lomax

Within Ruby's 1st year of hairdressing she was awarded Hairdressing Apprentice of the year and became a UK finalist at one of the worlds leading hair competition's, Wella trend vision.

Since she has created looks for photo shoots, worked with fashion shows and attended colleges and seminars sharing her inspiration with other hairdressers. Ruby has attended academies all over the country such as Aveda, Wella & L'oreal Professionnel which covered various courses, from Specialising in colour, Creative men's cutting & hair extensions to name a few.

After years of perfecting her cutting skills Ruby continued her education doing her assessors in 2009, which she uses to help assistants develop into stylists through careful training and direction. She recently completed a Colour Degree and now works as a part time freelance colour educator travelling to salons around the North West educating lots of other hairdressers. Ruby's passion is to eventually start up her own training academy here in the salon.

At the age of 22 Ruby was ready for a salon of her own, so afterteaming up with Gemma to open Escape in Bolton which they designed together Ruby said "I'm so happy with what we have achieved so far, I feel it is the best move in life I have ever made, I'm lucky to have such a fantastic team to be working alongside me."
